40th Wedding Anniversary Dinner - Restaurant Banquet Rooms?

Friends of ours are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, and their children are looking to host a celebration at a DC or Montgomery/PG County restaurant. Guest list will probably be around 70 people so looking for a restaurant with a separate banquet room. I believe they're pretty flexable in terms of location (the couple lives in Laurel/Burtonsville area) and type of restaurant, so any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Some places with nice, large private rooms are Acadiana, Clyde's, Bistro D'Oc, Ceiba, and Old Ebbit Grill. All located in DC...sorry I don't know much about PG County.

That would also depend on their taste and budget. Not far from Laurel, the Riggs Alumni center at University of Maryland is a great venue. My sister hosted a party for about 40 in the Club Room. There was a list of approved caterers. She chose Festive Foods and was able to arrange everything by email and phone. She hired 2 staff to set up and serve during the event and it was flawless.

Maggiano's right over the DC border in Friendship Heights has multiple meeting rooms. Tower Oaks in Rockville MIGHT be able to accommodate you. My office switched our holiday party last year to BlackFinn in Bethesda, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food
