How do you make spice mixes for steaks (etc)

I was buying a spicey hot steak mix and, apparently the stores around me don't carry it anymore. I believe it was made by McCormick. Anyway, it got me thinking about making my own. Does anyone have any idea's or a spicey mix you make? TIA

If you read the ingredient list for the mix, and consider that the first listed ingredient is the most prevalent, you could try and play around and replicate it. That is, if you still have a bottle for reference.
I wonder if you could do a search and perhaps find someone online who has already replicated it.

Mix chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, oregano, ground coriander seed. chili powder could be a commercial mix, or individual chilis such as ancho and chipotle.

for a different direction, use smoked Spanish paprika, cayenne to taste, salt, pepper.
