recent convert seeks local mackerel

On a whim at la principessa's birthday dinner in Fort Bragg I ordered , at Taka's Grill, grilled mackerel for the first time and it was some kind of epiphany. This could make up for the lack of real salmon in my life. Any hints on local sources either raw or cooked? Does the standard Japanese style involve some kind of sauce or is it all about the fish? Gotta get myself around some more of it.

Tokyo Fish Market usually has it, and I've seen it at Monterey Fish, both in Berkeley.
