Maui Delicacies

I will be spending 7 days in Maui (Kihei) Whenever I travel to new areas I search for unique local foods (ex “Beef on Wick” – Buffalo). Anything I should not leave Maui without trying? Also, any great cheap eats?

I second Komodo's the Cream Puffs, Malasadas and Donuts on a stick are excellent. Tasty Crust in Wailuku has great pancakes and fried rice. Also don't forget to try some Shave Ice, Local Boys in Kihei is pretty good.

I hear the cream puffs from the Komodo Bakery in Makawao are amazing. Have not tried them yet myself, though.

Guriguri from Tasaka in the Maui Mall. It's like a creamy sherbert and they are the only place that makes it.

Tasaka Guri Guri has been around since the 1920's. The Kahului shop is the only place where it is sold.
