Looking for an Indian Curry Close to Heathrow - Alternative to Achari on Simpson Road? [London]
I will be in the UK next week. I am looking to take a group of 4-6 people out to dinner away from the hotel. We are thinking about having a curry. I have been to Achari on Simpson Road. Is this still a good bet or are there better curry houses in the area? We have a car and a Brit for a driver, so we can venture out some.

I faced the same dilemma many times. I find the best option is to grab a mini-cab and head over to "Brilliant" in Southall (http://www.brilliantrestaurant.com/) between 4/6 people the cab fare won't be excessive and the restaurant is on the Heathrow side of Southall so it isn't too far away. The foods is very good and has impressed all I have taken there, the restaurant was recently renovated so it has lots of Bollywood bling. It is wise to book because it gets quite busy. If you have a car it isn't too bad to find a place to park close by - and yes it does seem to be in a residential road.
