Where to go for dinner on Monday night in Montreal?
Knowing that many restaurants in Montreal are closed on Mondays, I'm looking for suggestions on where to dine out that night.
Somewhere downtown is preferable. We're probably going to APDC or Garde Manger another night, so something a bit different would be great. Type of cuisine doesn't matter and cost can be anything between dirt cheap and somewhat fancy. My French is pretty decent, so I can get by almost anywhere...
Thanks for your suggestions!
There have been several recent discussions of this. Plug "Monday" into the search engine, sort by relevance and you get the following results: http://search.chow.com/search?query=monday&advanced=1&from_date=1+year+ago&type=Topic&sort_mode=relevance&from_date_select=1+year+ago&search_boardgroup_id=13&search_board_id=22&user_name=&post_title=
My highish-end downtown choice would probably be Café Ferreira. www.ferreiracafe.com
For cheap downtown, look to the Concordia ghetto (aka Chinatown 2), where options -- Chinese and non -- abound: Kazu, Cuisine Schezuan, Qing Hua, Tapioca Thé, Avesta, Antep Kebab, etc. (Again, plug the names into the search engine for reviews.)

If you're willing to go in Old Montreal, Le Local is opened on Monday nights. I was there last monday, the place was full, so there was ambiance in the restaurant, which is always better than an empty place
