Are you speaking of Philly Steaks in Norfolk? On Tidewater Drive by Wal-Mart? If so, those are excellent.

A co-worker swears by a place in Chesapeake. He has left for the day, but I'll get back to you with the name.

Sal's Pizza on Military Highway - Sits on the Walgreens side of the far side of Target parking lot and is kinda hidden behind other places - Excellent, excellent cheesesteak (and other things including pizza and eggplant parm!) Oh and in case you've been to any other places named "Sals" in the area, this one is NOT connected to any other place named Sals nor any other place that includes the name of "Sal" in their name.

Nope...no one's named the very best place. It's in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake - the Grill. It was voted #1 Cheesesteak in Hampton Roads. It is truly divine!

Grace Street Grill just off of Brambleton near the Chrysler Museum. They have the right bread, so important to a good cheese steak - and hard to find. Also the steak is not wafer slices but chopped rib eye with great flavor. It is not Pats of Philadelphia but it is a great cheese steak
