Breakfast/Brunch near 128 & MassPike?

peregrine May 20, 2010 09:37 AM

A friend is landing at Logan on a MONDAY, then heading west out the Pike to upstate NY.
I live in Lexington.
I'm seeking suggestions for breakfast or brunch very close to the Pike/128 exit, so she'll have a minimal detour.
Timing in the morning is dicey, so I'd prefer a place that serves until at least 10:00am, if not straight through.
Any cuisine OK.

It's a 10-minute detour off the Pike for your friend, but Joseph's Two in Waltham is a good option.

That was the first place I thought of, too.

You could also try Steve's Kitchen in Allston, even closer to the Pike (about five minutes off). They serve breakfast all day.

EDIT: Once again, nowhere near the map provided by Chowhound. Woof!

Here's an actual map of Steve's location: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&s...

There is also the Marriott Hotel in Newton off of 128 and the Pike. Many business meetings are held in that hotel over breakfast. The food is nothing to write home about, but it is a good place to meet.

A convenient option would be Knotty Pine Restaurant in Auburndale, right off of 128/Pike exit in Newton, It is a diner style restaurant with good (for a diner) breakfast/lunch options at a reasonable price.

295 Auburn St, Auburndale, MA 02466

          Thanks, hounds.
The Marriott looks good for someone just off the red-eye. That's the one to beat right now.
I'll check back in a day or two, so feel free to add more suggestions.

Decent home made CB hash there too and a buffet.

Just make sure how late they serve breakfast at the Marriott to make sure it works with your timing.

I did that - for general info, buffet until 10:00, menu until 11:00.
Her plane is scheduled to land around 7:00, so it ought to work.
