Cafe Verona now serving dinner

Popped by CV (201 S. La Brea Ave.) for an early supper yesterday & learned they will start serving dinner today. I believe the owner has been trying for this for a long time. Now they will close around 9:30-10 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. Can't wait to try the dinner specials!

Cafe Verona had excellent salmon on 3/27. It had a red sauce e with capers and garlic. Succulent! Strange presentation in form of V. Those tomatoes in the dining room tell it all.

I've visited Cafe Verona for dinner twice & had great meals both times -- simple, very fresh, tasty fare. I can recommend the meatballs served on saffron-seasoned risotto, the spaghetti al verde & the mushroom soup (topped with bits of goat cheese). What's more, the traffic on LaBrea quiets down after about 7:30! The restaurant finally has a Web site, so you can check out the menu: www.cafeveronala.com.
