Is the Red and White falafel place near Yonge & Wellesley still in existence?

I walked down Yonge some months back and never saw it and then wondered if I'd missed it?

No Red & White has been gone for ages. A new place went in their old location. I never tried it by my colleagues said that it didn't even compare to Red & White. I am still mourning Red & Whites departure although I will admit that near the end it just wasn't as good.

It was the best falafel place overall (excluding Tov Li) that I've ever tried. The toppings were so varied and exciting tasting. The R & W near Dundas is just not as good....

I had visited it for the first time near its closing, and was massively unimpressed with it. After hearing so many Chowhounders rant and rave about it, I was blown away by how mediocre it was.

Never tried the falafel, but the chicken shawarma was terrible. I guess I visited near the time where quality had massively slipped then.. Because I can get way, way better here in Brampton

Same here... I visited maybe three years ago, tried the chicken shawarma, and was very unimpressed. Tried again four months later with the same results. Then again, I'm from Ottawa, which is known as the land of good shawarma on every block, so it might be possible that I'm just spoiled.

Yeah, Ottawa and Montreal are in a whole 'nother league.. Nothing even comes close to that quality here in the GTA, that I've ever found at least... Toronto has the worst shawarma shops out of almost any city I've been to.

I tried the falafel place that's now at 519 Yonge. Worst falafel I've ever had, bar none. Avoid at all costs.
