One night for dinner- West Hollywoodish

I'll be in L.A. for one night (this Saturday) and am looking for recs for dinner for two. I've looked at some previous boards and nothing jumped out. We're staying at Andaz on Sunset and would love something close, but are willing to drive a bit if necessary. I'm looking for something mid-range, entrees under $25 if possible, not over the top but interesting and will eat anything, but have had a lot of Italian lately. I already have a reservation at Bazaar (late!!), but would be willing to cancel if someone has a better idea. Oh, and I guess somewhere I could get a reservation for this Sat. (seeing as it is Wednesday) would be great!
Also, have heard that if we're in L.A. for one weekend, go to the beach for brunch. True? And recs? Phew... Thanks!

I live in West Hollywood and know the area restaurants quite well. Personally, I would stick with your reservation at the Bazaar. That place is hard to beat for interesting, innovative cuisine. The French restaurant in the Andaz, RH, is ok but I was underwhelmed by it.

"Jitlada" (Southern Thai) for lunch, "Animal" (Unique with Bacon) for dinner. You'll find them both interesting and affordable.

Gjelina in Venice is great for a beach brunch. Enjoy the food on Abbott Kinney then take a walk on the Venice Boardwalk just blocks away.
