ISO: Supper Club for Birthday away from downtown

Help!

I'm in search of a dinner & dancing venue for my birthday in June. The only problem is that it falls on the weekend of the G8 summit and much of T.O.'s downtown core will be chaotic.

I was thinking of going to Maro, as Liberty Village will be a bit removed from the craziness. (The menu however, is not overly exciting.) Are there any other suggestions? Ideally, food should have a fairly universal appeal due to the different types of friends I have, and the crowd should be at least in their late 20s.

Honestly I can't think of a place inside or outside of the city which is a true supper club which actually has good food. The closest thing to it is Ultra and the food there really is not good.

I believe Maro is owned but the same folk who own Brant House. The food at Brant House isn't any good so I'm not sure you'd get much better at Maro.

I would suggest that you pick a place with good food for dinner and then find something close by for the second part of your evening.

Alleycatz? Biermarkt? Both have okay food and a live band for dancing. I can't vouch for the crowds, but both definitely have dinner and dancing in the same venue. It's usually hard to find both in the same place.
