Sunday in Norfolk, Monday in Virginia Beach

I was thinking of 456 Fish on Granby for Sunday night (we're staying nearby at the Residence Inn) based on a Fodor's or Frommer's recomendation. Good idea? I welcome thoughts for a local seafood place in Virginia Beach for lunch Monday. I'm not concerned with ambience.

Terrapin is fantastic but I don't think they're open for lunch. As far as VB seafood you can't go wrong with Tautogs IMO.

In my view, only two places to go in Norfolk. A.W. Shucks for seafood or Razzo for wonderful Italian. 456 Fish is meh and expensive. If it's the food you want in Virginia Beach, then you have to sacrifice atmosphere and go to Surfrider on Laskin Road. This restaurant has several branches in Tidewater, but the Laskin Road branch is closest to the oceanfront. If you want a fun Va. Beach vibe go to either Waterman's or Catch 31--the latter being more expensive and neither having exceptional food, but they are quintessential Va. Beach.

Oh, and Terrapins in Va. Beach gets fabulous reviews, but I've not been there. Booked solid during the last restaurant week.
