Going to see Wicked, where should we eat before?????

I am going with my mom and sister (we are in our 20's) to see Wicked! We are looking for a place for dinner, something with a cool ambiance and not too stuffy! We are staying in Union Square so anywhere between that and the theater would be great.

We are visiting from Napa just for the night and after reading CH- Perbacco sounded good, as well as Zuni, Absinthe, Heaven's Dog

We like all kinds of food except seafood. Any suggestions would be great! :)

  1. walk down to Market Street and catch MUNI - streetcar or bus to Zuni - it's an easy walk to the theatre after dinner.

    Zuni Cafe
1658 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94102

    1. Perbacco is always a great choice though it's a bit out of the way. Within Union Square is Gitane with good food & a very cool ambiance; however, apparently they are in the midst of a chef change.

      Gitane Restaurant & Bar
6 Claude Lane, San Francisco, CA 94108

      1. Absinthe is a good choice. Good food and great cocktails. For a more casual experience, I like Arlequin Cafe (384 Hayes Street) just down the street. You can get wine by the glass as well as pasta, sandwiches and a couple of hot entrees.

        1. Before a performance at ACT I recently had dinner at Kuleto's on Powell. I started with a salad of roasted beets and then had a delicious veal picatta. It's located between your hotel and the theater. I've definitely put this place on my Go Back Soon list.
