Have you had the ones at bobo restaurant? They have one with earl grey tea ice cream! Great grown-up version of the classic.

i 2nd this. i also read somewhere that chickalious has an eclair ice cream sandwich. i havent tried it but it sounds awesome.

The idea is very tempting but wouldn't Levain's cookies be too thick to make a proper sandwich?

I haven't been but the Meatball Shop in LES is supposed to have excellent ice cream sandwiches. I had a great one at Saltie in Brooklyn (I know it belongs on the Outer Boroughs, but in case the OP is willing to travel to B-Burg) with their homemade salted caramel ice cream not too long ago. I also heartily second Ronnybrook's ice cream sandwiches!

Ronnybrook Dairy uses their own ice creams in sandwiches. But I have no idea if they make the cookie part themselves or if they are someone else's. Adore Ronnybrook.
