NEEDHAM LUNCH
Hi All--I am new to both Chowhound.com and also to the Needham area. I am looking for a Sunday lunch recommendation. Nothing to pricey but also not diner food. I was thinking Sweet Basil in Needham Center since that seems to be good but they dont do Sunday lunch. Any recommendations on the Needham area would be great. (Trying to stick to Needham since I recently moved here but might be willing to go down Highland into Newton if there's a great place). Lunch will be for 5-6 people who are adventurous but I also want to have some safe bets on the menu. Look forward to any feedback! Thanks!

I *think* Petit Robert is open for lunch on Sundays. Spiga on the Needham/Newton line serves lunch (not sure if they offer it on the weekends?) - I've only ever had dinner there, but I think the food is great. If you wanted to go in the other direction towards Wellesley, The Cottage and Blue Ginger both have nice lunch menus.

The Center Cafe by the Needham Center commuter rail stop is very good. Great burger for $8 including fries. Their wings are also excellent. Farm Grill is great, though - I usually get regular gyros, a side of hummus and spicy feta spread, and a galactobouriko for dessert. They also seem to have a draconian pita policy, so you have to ask for extra, or you'd never have enough to finish the hummus.

Farm Grill on Needham Street in Newton is my favorite place for a lunch. It is cafeteria style, though, but I think you'd still find it comfortable, very clean, and definitely delicious. It is Greek, with fabulous kabobs, salads and gyros. Their sides are not great, but you won't need them at lunch.
