Bacar or Chaya Brasserie?

Which one to pick? I have a friend coming to town for work and have been invited to a corporate dinner. I can choose to go to the Bacar dinner or the Chaya Brasserie dinner.

I'm torn! I have been to Chaya and liked it - but thought it seemed a little unfriendly and cold. I have not been to Bacar but have heard mixed things.

Can anyone help me decide?
