Searching for coffee

Need a good coffee house near Melrose & Vine

Depends what you're looking for (best coffee, place to sit and work, food, etc.) and how wide your radius is, but there's also...

Stir Crazy on Melrose, closer to Highland
Wild Oats on Melrose at Larchmont
Bricks & Stones on Larchmont south of Melrose
Fratelli on Melrose past La Brea

Or if you're willing to travel a little further...

    Susina or
Insomnia, both on Beverly west of La Brea

Oh and there's also a little spot in a strip mall right on that corner, called Cafe Americano, I believe. Looks more like a grab-and-go kind of place, but I don't know anything about it first hand.

If you want the best cup of coffee, I would suggest Groundworks on Sunset. If you want the best place to grab a cup and hang out/read/work I would suggest Caffe Etc. on Cahuenga.

Not the best coffee neighborhood, but I would say Urth Cafe on Melrose or Groundworks on Sunset are probably your best bets.

Urth is closer to Robertson & thus about a 20 minute drive in weekday traffic. How about Peets in Larchmont, just a few minutes away?
