Client lunch in Santa Monica HELP!!!!!!

I have to take a client to lunch in Santa Monica near Ocean Park and Centinela. We need something comfortable, good food and not too overwhelming.

I went to Vito's due to a recommendation from a "well-known restaurant guide." The food was horrible. I have no idea why people recommend that restaurant.

Really pretty darn good and reasonable Italian food at Il Forno on Ocean Park just 3 blocks west of your location, (30th and OP). They have a nice patio or inside dining.

If it needs to be walking distance, there is a wonderful Italian restaurant called Vito on Ocean Park and 28th.....very old world, dark with waiters and tuxes. Great food, very hushed.
