Romantic Birthday dinner in Sonoma? Russian River area....

I am going to Sonoma with my boyfriend for a wedding, and want to surprise him with a romantic dinner in the Russian River/ Windsor/ Healdsburg area......any suggestions? We are foodies, so the food must be amazing!!! Thanks for any replies!

Cyrus is the ultimate culinary experience but is very pricey, about $103/pp before tax, tip and drinks. The Farmhouse Inn in Forestville is very romantic and is Michelin star rated, it is less expensive than Cyrus. Another option is Dry Creek Kitchen @ the Hotel Healdsburg. Have fun! :)

One more vote for Farmhouse Inn. Though I've not been to Cyrus, so couldn't make a comparison. Farmhouse Inn is very romantic, set in a beautiful garden, and feels like you are 'way out in the country. The food is incredible. The rabbit done three ways is a speciality and delicious, but the chef really has a magic touch when it comes to cooking fish!

Cyrus is more showy (and pricey), but Farmhouse is romantic with lovely food. Either would be a fine choice. I like both of these much more than Dry Creek Kitchen, which for me is nothing special.

If you have another dining opportunity, I would also recommend the casual Bistro M in Windsor, which is the sister restaurant to the more upscale Mirepoix. We had a late lunch there a few weeks ago, and were favorably impressed with the classic bistro food and really warm service. And it's really fairly priced, too.

Cyrus is the price-no-object answer. However, IMO, Farmhouse Inn is more romantic with more personal service and outstanding food. And that would be my choice/recommendation.
