Caribbean sit down restaurant in Toronto that is TTC friendly

Does anyone know of a nice sit down Caribbean restaurant in Toronto that is TTC accessible. The only one that I know is The Real Jerk at Broadview/Queen but I was wondering if there are any others?

Harlem and Harlem Underground are on the TTC...despite the name, it's mostly Caribbean or Caribbean-style...Marimba!

Really? I think of Harlem as primarily Cajun and Southern soul food.

Agreed, but that's hardly "mostly Caribbean" given the rest of the menu. Nonetheless, I'm not trying to split hairs. The menu is online if the OP wants to check it out. Harlem is great! :)

After numerous visits, I agree Harlem on Richmond is definitely geared more towards southern soul food (fried chicken, bbq chicken, ribs, pork hock, etc.) with a few Caribbean touches. I haven't bean to the Harlem Undeground location on Queen, but from what I've read it seems this one is geared more towards the Caribbean aspect of the menus, so this might be the better option for the original poster.

Not sure what "nice" is to you, but since you reference the Real Jerk I assume we're not talking about white tablecloths and waiters in bow-ties. With that assumption, there's a new place called the Ritz Caribbean Foods & Sports Bar that has opened recently on the south east corner of the Esplanade and Jarvis, basically kitty-corner to the St. Lawrence Market. It is easily walkable from Union or King subway stations, or down from the King street car stop at Jarvis.

The decor is basic and clean (the space was a Golden Griddle before and they did only minimal renos after taking it over) but the food was very good and the prices extremely reasonable. Don't be deterred by the "sports bar" thing, it basically means they have a lot of TVs but when we were there families with small children were dining, so it's mostly a casual restaurant vibe.

If midtown works for you, then I'd say Caribbean Bistro near Yonge and Eg.

I second that opinion ... nice friendly service although dont expect anything fancy at all. Very utilitarian approach

I third it..though I am wondering what do you mean by fancy? It has a perfectly passable decor and I for one would not call it "very utilitarian",specially compared to other Caribbean places that I have been to in the city.
