A new addition to NY street food, the GO BURGER truck was at the Third Ave. street fair today.
They're serving burgers, fries, shakes etc. and are operated by BLT Restaurants. Maybe mobile competition for the Shake Shack?

  1. Tried the single cheeseburger today. Definitely not going to take customers from Shake Shack. The burger was a decent size and beefy/salty enough had a decent crust but it was cooked through without the slightest bit of pink. Served on a sesame seed bun. Was a course grind on the burger but was pretty densely packed.

As I was eating it, I kept thinking to myself that it tasted like a well made version of a McDonalds or Burger King type burger. Maybe it was cause it was cooked entirely through and I usually like medium rare (note, they didn't ask how I wanted it cooked nor did it specify on the menu, as best I can recall)

That was my take too. Their burgers do remind me a little bit of the old Burger King style from back when they flame broiled them freshly. I thought the meet was on the dry side, and overwhelmed by the bun. The tomato slice was from a crummy low quality supermarket type beefsteak tomato. The bun reminded me of a Trader Joes honey wheat packaged bun. All their burgers were cooked to a standard medium well, and sitting under a hot lamp when there was a line. The fries were good, in a Mcdonald's sort of way. It still tasted like a notch up from fast food chain food, but nothing I would bother ordering again.
