Huevos Rancheros

Who does a really good version in the Boston area? (I know Friendly Toast has it on its menu, but I find the dishes at Friendly Toast tend to have one or two too many ingredients!)

I thought the version at Franlkin Southie was OK but my favorite so far is at Metropolis Cafe in the South End - eggs your way topped with spicy black bean hash, salsa, sour cream and tortilla strips

The Huevos Rancheros I recently had at the Friendly Toast were served ice cold and the avocado was not ripe. I would say to skip them (and the Cambridge FT in general).

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of constructive guidance on a really good version. I had some at Masa last year that I remember as being good, but they don't stand out as something I need to run back for.

Would the "migas" at Mike & Patty's be close enough for you? Their menu describes it as "eggs scrambled with salsa, cheese, tostadas and roasted poblanos. with guacamole, refritos and corn tortillas". I've had this dish, and it was just terrific!

The migas are so delicious ! All their breakfast sandwiches are so good. That place is a real gem and I love supporting them b/c they're also really nice people.

It's on the brunch menu at Ole.
          I've never ordered it though.

This dish isn't my cup of tea, but the wife is a fan and she likes the HR @ Masa in the SE. She feels the HR @ Franklin Southie is hit or miss

Angela's Cafe in Eastie. Had 'em recently: excellent.
