Moving to Longwood (Orlando)

Hi fellow Chowhounds! I've lived in Orlando for 10 years, but always in southeast Orlando. We are moving to Longwood soon, and I need to know what to eat up there. I'm very familiar with Winter Park eats, and I know about these Longwood/Casselberry places because they're near I-4:

Kobe
Melting Pot
Terra Mia
Craving
Udipi Cafe
Cypriana
Mykonos

What great little places do I need to find? thanks

  1. Cassleberry has Cubans on the run, great cuban lunch. Delicious cuban sandwiches.

Also there is Habaneros Mexican which is quite good.

I have never been to Mykonos but I know several people who live in Longwood that go there frequently and love it.

    1. I see you like Greek food! I've been to Cypriana and Mykonos one time each, but my wife and I absolutely love Greek Flame Taverna on Semoran and Howell Branch, at the edge of Casselberry and Winter Park. I think it's far superior to the other two.

For Indian, Kohinoor in Altamonte Springs is my favorite in town, and it isn't terribly far from Longwood -- on Semoran right near the Altamonte exit to I-4.

A little further down Semoran near the 434 intersection is Don Pepe's Habana Grill, our favorite Cuban restaurant in town and the best Cuban food I've had anywhere since leaving Miami almost six years ago.

For cheap, authentic Mexican, you can't beat Chilango's in Winter Springs, just down SR 434 from Longwood.

For special occasions, Enzo's on the Lake is very romantic, old world-style Italian in beautiful surroundings, right on 17-92 where Longwood meets Casselberry. We usually go there for Valentine's Day.

      1. Here's a few of my favorites in Longwood off the top of my head:
        Bayridge Sushi
        Sushin
        Imperial Dynasty
        Polonia
        Cafe Paisano
        Carmelas (for Grandma pizza)
        Ali Baba

        1. re: watch me eat

Good call on Polonia! I can't believe I forgot it. How is the new Bavarian restaurant in the same parking lot area (17-92 south of 434)?

Also, Ali Baba is solid, but I greatly prefer Aladdin Cafe on 436 and Red Bug Lake Road in Casselberry.

        2. youve got to check out
          korea house
          seoul garden
          Kohinoor

thats all i can think of in addition to the previous mentioned in Longwood area

          1. Thanks everyone! I'm excited to try these new places!

            1. Also, Chef Henry's just reopened in the plaza right off of I4 on 434. I used to frequent the one in Casselberry on Howell Branch and it was great Eastern European food. I haven't been to the new location, but understand it is just as good if not better now (Scott Joseph just gave it a good review).
