Flat Patties update

I stopped by Flat Patties' new location today thinking they would be open by now. I was disappointed to find that they won't open for a few more weeks. I did manage a peek inside and it's really nice! I think with a street front location, they will attract many more customers.

    I think it will be this week.
    I stopped for lunch on Friday at Felipes in The Garage (same owner) and the Micros System was down.
    It was total mayhem and the GM said that it pushed the opening of Flat Patties back to this week

      Is that the same location as the old Buddy's Pit? That would be amusingly ironic.

        God, I forgot about Buddy's Pit...apparently Flat Patties is now open. A friend of mine who works in the square just had lunch there. Said the burgers were great, and apparently their frozen custard was very good as well (homemade).

            Yup. Just read on the Harvard Crimson blog that it opened today. Can't wait to check the new digs!

          Early report - I popped in for a burger last night and it was quite good. There was one major improvement, actually, which was that the burger was nicely pink throughout -- no mean feat for a 1/4" patty. On the downside I found it a bit underseasoned, and the cheese wasn't fully melted. And then I wondered -- was the cheese in the original location always a mild cheddar-type, or was it American? Last night it seemed to be more like a mild orange cheddar, and I couldn't remember if it had always been that way.

          Other than those details, the burger was its same old lovable self.

            I feel like it was a pretty non-descript yellow slice before, probably American. I have to remember to request that the cheese be melted cuz it pisses me off when the slice is thrown on at the last minute with no time to soak in. Happens too often with smaller burgers.
