"Pasta" - A Korean TV show!

I am an avid fan of Hulu.com. In fact I do not watch TV at all but view Hulu to see shows. Well Hulu just started a series of new shows from Korean TV.

I am watching the first episode of "Pasta" and it is a funny food/chow show. Albeit, it is sub-titled for these who have a problem about that. But it is fun! And food! Give it a shot!

I think there is also a show dealing with a pastry chef... I definitely will check that out as well.

  1. I recently finished watching this whole series! It's actually a love story developed within the culinary world...kind of like "No Reservations". What I loved about it was that it showed a lot of cooking, and while 'Love' was the central theme, it did not steer too far away from the cooking aspects! It IS a Korean drama, so you'll see some Korean interpretations on Italian food....for example, how Koreans tend to eat pickles along with their pasta dishes (this played a huge part in one part of the drama...)

Overall, I found this to be a very enjoyable mini-series! I encourage others to watch and discuss!

I really did enjoy the first episode! I can't wait to watch the rest. The food scenes are GREAT!

    2. i'm addicted to this show! i'm only on episode 6, but luckily it moves pretty fast. The "action" scenes in the kitchen plus all of the drama make having to read subtitles not so tedious...thanks to hulu for bringing this show to an american audience..

      1. My wife is following this one on enjoy tv.

The one about the Korean French pastry chef is "My Lovely Samsoon" Hilarious.

That's a great drama as well! But, it's not as heavily centered around food as "Pasta", wouldn't you say? Like eebudee stated above, "Pasta" has a lot of food "action" scenes, loved it!

              Pasta is more food centered.
My Favorite though is Dae Jaeng Geum (Medicine Woman). It's a great historical fiction/drama based on the first Korean woman to become a King's physician. The Royal court cooking scenes in the show are just fantastic.

Where do you watch that one, please?

                1. re: Quine

Volume 1 is available for rent through Netflix right now, volumes 2 and 3 may be added soon.
Other than that I'm not sure.
I watched it via satellite in 2003/4.

this IS a good show, lots of "gordon-type" stuff, funny and honest characters and damned the food! ( I cannot tell you how hungry this show made me!) (I just watched the last episode and UGH :( What happens next?

BTW that stuff they keep pouring outa those green bottles, is Wicked potent! Try it if you can find it.

          2. Thanks, w/ children living in Korea and no cable, Hulu is a regular alternative. We have our MacBook hooked up to flat TV screen w/ cables.
