Where to go for fantastic authentic Italian food in Vaughan?

I live in Vaughan and am looking for a great, authentic Italian food that doesn't cost a lot. I am looking for something rustic and authentic and not your typical trendy commercial fare, such as that found at Grazie, Vinsanto, Tresca, Ice Cream Patio etc. I have been to Italy numerous times and have found very few restaurants that are as good as those found in there.

Grazie
2373 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M4P2C8, CA

Ice Cream Patio
149 Rowntree Dairy Rd, Woodbridge, ON L4L6E1, CA

Sorry to disappoint you but you won't find what you are looking for in Vaughan. As a person who works in Vaughan and spends a fair bit of time there, I have tried a great deal of the Italian restaurants, particularly in Woodbridge, and have been disappointed time and again. There are good places such as Marcello's but they are good for a basic pizza or pasta, and nothing above that.
I finally found a place by referral, La Cascina at Martingrove and 7, that had no menu and the chef just cooked a few dishes per day, but from what I understand, they have closed and are moving the restaurant to midtown Toronto.

For great Italian food, you are better off driving downtown.

that's pretty disappointing. Of all places, you think that a city like Vaughan would have decent Italian food.
