Hatfield's! What To Order?
Well, what did you end up ordering?
I went last night, ordered the duck from the tasting menu as an entree, with prune smear and butternut squash, coupled with an appetizer of their fabulour celery root soup.
Companions had the hanger steak/short rib item also from the tasting menu and the filet, both of which they said were terrific. They began by splitting the croque madame, which they are still talking about. I told them to trust me as the taste of it, and asked them to describe it afterward, and they were stumped. It is just one of those tastes that you have to try for yourself.
The new place is really nice looking, perfectly suited for the tastes and sublime cooking of Quinn and Karen and the wines perfectly paired by Peter Birmingham.
Desserts included the tapioca/mango item for birthday boy here, while companions shared a chocolate item, the exact details of which escaped this non-chocoholic.
Topping it off was bottle of Monarchy from Four Vines, focusing on Petite Verdot/Malbec grapes, which,as expected, was the perfect pairing - thank you Peter.
A perfect night of food and celebration.
