Not all restos have a website, and that includes Steak Frites. At least, no website in evidence yet. What I usually do in such cases is, if I'm in the neighborhood - as I am, with Steak Frites- is drop in and ask to see their menu and wine list, for future reference. I've since been in twice for dinner, and find it good, solid bistro fare. Think of it as French-bistro standby Le Paradis, but uptown - and with slightly higher prices. But then, no joint is going to beat Le Paradis for bistro value, with its several tasty $14-$15 mains. Steak Frites is for locals who don't want to drive south and jockey for parking space. Some attractive wine prices at Steak Frites, many between $25-$30 a bottle. And lots of main dish choices under $20. Two can do it easily, with wine, for $75- $100, all in. Good service, serene atmosphere, pleasant light-jazz background music. Easy parking on the residential streets running east from Yonge St., or a short walk up from the Lawrence subway stop. A nice change from the plethora of Italian restos that populate that strip on Yonge St. north of Lawrence Ave. I like it - so far.
