Question About Jalapeños

  • 2

I've got a question regarding jalapenos. I'm growing some for the first time. I bought them at Home Depot about three weeks ago when they were about 4" high. I bought them on a whim because the plants looked so pretty and I thought it would be interesting to see if I could make a go of it. Now they are about twice that size and are even more gorgeous. bright, shiny green leaves. My question is, when can I expect to see the actual peppers start to grow?

  1. They need to flower first - where the flowers are, the peppers will be.

You can probably get more details by asking this on the Gardening board.

    1. Peppers like hot weather. So be patient and they will flower when the weather gets warmer. Leave a few on the plant so they turn red and see how different they taste. I have 4 this year and Thai dragon peppers. I'm going to try my hand at a hot sauce using both! Check the forum on garden web.
