Restaurants That Can Prepare Low Sodium Meals On Request

BookGuy May 14, 2010 11:05 AM

Is there any place within downtown Washington where the chef can prepare a dish with no sodium? One of our guests has this dietary restriction.

    You might try Rock Creek.

My husband has the same problem and it isn't easy to eat out.

We've had the best luck at medium sized places without celebrity chefs who don't mind tweaking the menu or holding the sauce. Other than burgers (he brings his own bun) we haven't ordered meat preparations, but have had good luck ordering plain grilled fish. A place that offers baked potatoes is always a plus.

As for Rock Creek, we haven't had much luck there -- while they offer nutritional info on the menu they don't include the sodium count. And when I've enquired they have never been much help

If you find a good place, please let me know. I'm always looking.

Well after the post above if you want wonderful plain grilled fish, Blacksalt (ok ok ironic name) might be a good place to go? I have always been impressed with their fish.

Saw on DonRockwell that Dino was able to do this, so you may want to add that to the list.

I have gathered from reviews that Komi definitely wouldn't be included on this list. Is that correct?
