Elegant Lunch for Family in the South Bay

I am visiting my family in the South Bay this weekend and I was initially going to take my family (parents, two teenage siblings) to dinner at Alexanders, but because of scheduling we're now going to have to do a lunch. I'd like any suggestions for restaurants in the South Bay that serve lunch (or brunch) on a Sunday with food somewhat on par with what you'd get at a fancy steakhouse. I'm not asking for steaks since that's not exactly a lunch food, but basically something with nice ambiance and delicious food in the South Bay.

Thanks in advance!

The Four Seasons in E. Palo Alto is pricey, but very good.

Try the Fountain at the Fairmont hotel in San Jose. Very elegant and great food.

Not technically South Bay, but maybe Trader Vic's in Palo Alto? Or St. Michael's Alley in Palo Alto?

I love trader vic's, especially the ambience, but i'm not quite sure it has the "nice" ambience they're looking for, nor would "delicious" be the first word that comes to mind when thinking of their food

That's because they are all open for Brunch on Sundays. Not sure what you think of as South Bay, but La Foret in Almaden Valley is "elegant" and open for brunch on Sunday.

Take a look at opentable.com for openings. I haven't been but LB Steak in Santana Row sounds like what you're looking for. Also check out Left Bank, a casually elegant space which appears to serve brunch dishes in addition to regular menu.
