Sunday lunch in Louisville
The only meal we'll have in town, and would love something that is "the real Louisville experience." Want good food yes, but really want a Kentucky/Louisville place, something you'd find no where else perhaps, an institution (?) or ... well, if I knew what it was I'd say so. I know of the hot brown, and we may do that, but if there is something else we should know about, please share. Thank you.

Thanks for all these. I had heard of Lily's but they are closed on Sunday, the one day we are in town.

Unless you need to stay downtown I would recommend Corbett's which is located in an historic restored mansion that was Louisville's first dairy farm. It was a Saveur Best New Restaurant. The chef, Dean Corbett is a well-known Louisville chef. http://www.corbettsrestaurant.com. But if you want a casual brunch, I would recommend Wild Eggs, which has two locations. http://www.crackinwildeggs.com/

Try The English Grill at The Brown Hotel - downtown Louisville.
