Sunday lunch in Louisville

The only meal we'll have in town, and would love something that is "the real Louisville experience." Want good food yes, but really want a Kentucky/Louisville place, something you'd find no where else perhaps, an institution (?) or ... well, if I knew what it was I'd say so. I know of the hot brown, and we may do that, but if there is something else we should know about, please share. Thank you.

  1. Try The English Grill at The Brown Hotel - downtown Louisville.

    1. Unless you need to stay downtown I would recommend Corbett's which is located in an historic restored mansion that was Louisville's first dairy farm. It was a Saveur Best New Restaurant. The chef, Dean Corbett is a well-known Louisville chef. But if you want a casual brunch, I would recommend Wild Eggs, which has two locations.

      1. Lilly's (Bardstown Road) has a great lunch, and they are hardcore locavores.

As far as institutions go, you might like Jack Fry's (Baxter Avenue).

        1. Thanks for all these. I had heard of Lily's but they are closed on Sunday, the one day we are in town.

All great recommendations above. Other options are 211 Clover, Limestone, and Winston's.
