You could do Greek food at Papa Cristo's near downtown.

The pizza was great and they have tasty, fresh salads as well. The downtown location has an upstairs room, which was perfect for our group. Since the manager knew we had come from a volunteer project he sent out complimentary orders of burrata cheese and flatbread to all the tables. They really couldn't have been more gracious.

I recently participated in a volunteer project in Downtown LA and the 50+ volunteers had dinner at Pitfire Pizza. They were more than accomodating to our large group. They have locations in Downtown and in Westwood!

No website, but you can access a menu with prices that will be close to up to date here: http://losangeles.menupages.com/resta...

While CBS does have the capacity it'd be a little cramped compared to one of the larger Chinatown restaurants, such as Ocean Seafood or Empress Pavilion.

Agreed. Both your suggestions are probably better places, considering the size of the group. Good thinking.

ADD: I added websites to both place links for Ocean Seafood and Empress Pavilion.

If you call Lawry's they do group rates at much less than menu prices.

A few miles away from UCLA in Beverly Hills Lawry's The Prime Rib does groups like this all the time.

We too love, Lawry's. My only concern would be the stated budget, "all in" of $40 per person. I'm not sure they could hit that number at Lawry's.

This sounds like a good time to go the Chinese restaurant route. Something like CBS Seafood or the like.
