  1. Definitely Hatties. Get the Pecan Crusted Catfish or the Shrimp with Grits. Fried Green Tomato Appetizer is great, too!

    1. I agree, definitely Hatties! Tillman's is good, but service can be hot and cold. Enjoy.

      1. Hattie's! For, shrimp and grits.

        1. I've been to all three, and I'd go to Tillman's based on personal experience, or Screen Door based on an impressive recent review.

I went not too long after it opened, and wasn't that impressed, but there's now a new regime that has gotten at least one stellar review. So based on that I'd be willing to give it another try.

PS Just wanted to mention ... if you go to Hattie's, the fried chicken is actually chicken fried chicken.

          2. Hattie's, with Tillman's a close second. Depends on what kind of "down home" you're in the mood for, really. Hattie's is more refined Southern, and Tillman's is more of a Texas carnivore kind of place. Since they are a few doors apart, you could be totally hedonistic and do apps & drinks at one and dinner at the other. I'm just sayin'...
