We recently drove from Waco(!) to DC and spent one night in Bristol VA
(a nice little town). We stumbled upon the Troutdale Bistro in Btristol TN (right across State Street) and had a wonderful dinner. Slow-cooked lamb and pasta for me, shrimp and grits for the spouse --both were very good -- DC good. The price was reasonable -- not DC prices. This is a place that deserves a stop if you are anywhere near.

  1. I concur that you should try this restaurant. I had lunch there today and it was so good. I had the turkey, swiss, and bacon panini along with a side of Greek salad. My friend had the chicken panini with waldorf salad. She said that was the best waldorf salad she had ever had b/c it had blue cheese in the dressing. Great service and the owner stopped by to see how we liked the food. I will definintely make this my go to lunch spot in Bristol.
