Where to buy fresh seafood around St. Simon's Island, GA?

My family will be visiting the area for a week. We really enjoy making use of fresh seafood when we have the chance. Does anyone know if it's possible to get seafood fresh at the docks? Any recommendations for really excellent seafood markets in the area? Thank you!

  1. I was in Jekyll last week and our fishing guide suggested City Market in Brunswick.

I've also been to a seafood store on St. Simons, in one of the retail shopping strips, which was fairly sparse in selection but really fresh and good. Sorry, I can't remember the name.
Darien is another place to check out as they have a ton of shrimpers on the river.
The Rah Bar at the Jekyll Wharf has amazing peel and eat shrimp fresh off the boat- if you have the chance to get over there, try it!

The best deal is from Knights on Bay Street, you can buy shrimp on the dock if they have any fresh, they are very reasonable, I would call Knights to see if they are open. St Simons Seafood is the market on St Simons. The owner BJ does not carry a wide selection, but what she does have is generally high quality. She is on Demere in the same strip as Locos.

St. Simons Seafood must have been what I was referring to earlier. Thanks for the name!

Assume the Knights on Bay is in Brunswick? I'll be back down in June and will probably just stick to SS Seafood as its close to where we stay. What has she been carrying lately?

She has been having, salmon, scamp, sword, local snapper, local flounder & if she has dry scallops, they are the best.
