Party of 20-25, near convention center or maybe french quarter, $60pp max?

  • 4

Hey everyone. I've been searching for a place to have a dinner for about 20-25 people in mid-July. Ideally I'd find a place near the convention center, but it's possible that we might be able to expand the area to the french quarter as well. We have a budget of $1500, but we could possibly go a tad over (but not much), so that gives us about $60pp including tax and service, and including any alcohol and room rental charges. We don't necessarily need something super upscale, but would prefer something not totally casual if possible.

I've looked into Emeril's, Calcasieu, and Rio Mar, and they're all too pricey, so I'm looking for other suggestions. Any ideas? I don't think there are any restrictions on type of food. Thanks in advance!

  1. Try Meson 923. They are new and the food is wonderful, and I know they have a private dining room than accommodates this number of people upstairs. They would probably be willing to work with you on the all-inclusive menu too.

Thanks! I think I'd ruled them out because they aren't open on Mondays, though we can go with Tuesday as an alternate option. Worth looking into, I guess.

    2. Another option is Domenica, which I'm pretty sure can accommodate large private parties. Very upscale ambience, but moderate prices--you can eat very well (and drink) there on your budget. Wonderful variety of excellent Italian food; wood oven pizzas are superb.
