Hot sauce that begins with G - might be italian??? [moved from Home Cooking]

Had a conversation tonight with someone who said his wife gets this great hot sauce that begins with a G, said it was very similar to the sichuan chili sauce that we were eating. Is this ringing a bell to anyone? It's spicy.

Was it Gochujang? This is a Korean red pepper paste used as a condiment, marinade and to flavor stews.
