Need lively restaurant with vegetarian options for bday dinner for 6-8.
Looking for a fun and mid-range restaurant to celebrate my 42nd birthday with 6-8 of my friends. Prefer it to be below 25th street east or west is fine. Looking for a lively and fun restaurant with great food....thinking latin, indian or tapas (margaritas, mojitos, sangrias, etc.). And it's going to be on a Saturday night, but Memorial Day weekend so thinking city won't be as crowded....

I would suggest Tabla. We were there a few months ago with a group of 8, including a couple of vegetarians. Everyone was very satisfied with the delicious food. Although the menu is now the same downstairs (fka Bread Bar) and up, I recommend upstairs because tables are more widely-spaced, and it's a little more elegant (tablecloths) for a birthday dinner. We sat upstairs at a round table that comfortably accommodated the eight of us. Not sure about sangria, but my husband has had a mojito there, and since they have tequila, I'm sure you can get a margarita.

When you say tapas do you mean traditional Spanish tapas or just small plates in general? A traditional Spanish tapas joint probably won't have margaritas and mojitos.
Also you don't mention a price range. How much are you looking to spend per person including tax, tip, wine/drinks?
Have you looked into any of the restaurants mentioned here:
