Lunch en route to Breaux Bridge

Hi - I will be flying into MSY and renting a car and driving to Breaux Bridge. Can anyone recommend a good spot to stop for lunch on the drive? Thanks! We are open to any type of food or price.

Jacob's Smokehouse in Laplace if you can't wait until BR.

On your way home stop and pick up some to take home.

I'd pick Wayne Jacobs' Smokehouse, which has a full-service restaurant attached to the smokehouse, if I were stopping in Laplace for lunch.

Joe's Dreyfus Store in Livonia -- haven't been there in years, and it changed hands a few times, then closed, and reopened in 2008. I've wanted to stop back by to see how it compares to the legend, but haven't had time.

It keeps onening-and-closing so much that I have given up trying to keep track. I was there about a year or more ago and it was merely passable. The meal was marred by live music. I have heard that it closed again since then but cannot guarantee that.
