Black and White Cookies

Hi There

I was recently in New York City and many of the bakeries had these great cookies called black and white cookies. They are circular with half chocolate icing and half vanilla icing. The cookie part if somewhat soft. Are there any bakeries in Toronto that make black and white cokkies????

Ahh cookies of my youth.... Not ideal but Sobeys at Bathurst and Clark often have mini ones shipped in from NYC but they are packaged along with many other yummy baked products they get from NY.
If they are fresh (check the dates) they are yummy. But they are also filled with preservatives as all other boxes cookies/cakes.

If I remember right, I think I had one like 10 years ago at Richman's Bakery on Bathurst St. No idea if they are still there. Hope this helps.

Yup, had one at Richman's about 6 months ago and it was good - haven't had one in NYC so can't compare though!

I brought some from Glaser's last time I came up from NYC. I did this because I have yet to find these anywhere in Toronto. If someone knows of a local source, please share, otherwise, I may have to go into the B&W cookie business.

they were a staple growing up in ny. bakery in my hometown did them on wednesdays. i've never tried them anywhere else.

Good question! I've only ever seen them in New York but with all the little bakeries popping up in town, it's possible that somebody has started making them here.
