Best bakery for wedding cakes in Nassau County?

Hi,

I'm getting married in September, and have yet to choose a bakery for my wedding cake! I've been to so many weddings where the wedding cake has been less than impressive, and am hoping to make mine a little more memorable (in a good way!). Does anybody have recommendations for a fantastic wedding cake baker? Also, at whatever bakery you might recommend, what cake flavors would you say are the best? I'm planning to check out Jean Marie, Baked to Perfection, St Honore, and Diane's within the next few days. If you know anything about these bakers for wedding cakes, please let me know your thoughts. Any feedback is much appreciated!

does Dortoni's in levittown do wedding cakes? if they do, I would trust them for something dazzling.

That's great--thanks so much! I went to Diane's in Roslyn; they don't do wedding cakes anymore. Went to Baked to Perfection, and the guy was nice but we couldn't taste anything when we were there. I'll be sure to check out these suggestions--thanks again!

Monica spent a lot of time with us at the tasting and helped us pick an amazing combination of flavors. It was really tasty and we got a ton of compliments specifically on the cake. Not your typical lousy cake.

We had chocolate and vanilla cake with Choc mousse and a raspberry preserve/raspberry mousse filling. It was a thin layer of the preserve, then a thicker layer of the preserve mixed with swiss buttercream I think. I might be misremembering that, but Monica will surely give you a combo that works together.
