Not sure that I would call it "GREAT" but it's trying.

My current favourite that is great in my eyes is Maestro Roberto's. NE corner of Weston Rd and Hwy 7 (in the strip plaza)
There is another place I can't remember the name in the plaza NW corner of Rutherford and Islington...same plaza at St Philips Bakery.

I've also enjoyed dining at Mastro Roberto, although it's been a couple years. The daily specials were quite interesting last time I was there. Not $$$, but nice enough atmosphere and tasty food.

Tutto Bene! Half the price of DM and food twice as delicious!!

        Tutto Bene

They closed down. Way too expensive for very average food. They thought that parking a Ferrari outside would attract people willing to pay outrageous amounts of money for their food. Not!

Not surprised at all! Way way overprice, even more than Mistura - downtown!! Nice decor though!

        2. The owner of Sapori (Yonge/Lawrence) is opening a place up at 400 and Rutherford called Autostrada. It's supposed to be opening in the next couple of months, so I don't know if that actually helps you right now, but thought I'd throw out a heads up.

I ran into Eduardo, Luigi's brother last Saturday. Autostrada is now open. Apparently it is pretty big - 200 seats. Looking forward to trying it out. BTW Eduardo has now bought Trio on Yonge with a partner from Luigi and is running that restaurant and Sapori has changed its name and a 50% interest has been sold to Gus, the long time hard worker.

              1. Tony Bulloni, on Bathurst above Steeles is fabulous. Never been disappointed
in the food and very reasonable for the quality.
7117 Bathurst Street - East Side ..watch for it in a strip plaza..apparently they
                have one downtown as well.
Last was there a couple of weeks ago, had the special Angolotti with lobster- delicous!
