ISO - Restaurant that serves BOTH Chicken & Waffles AND Country/Chicken Fried Steak

I'll be in Atlanta for Memorial Day weekend and I have looked at over 20 restaurant menus and have yet to find a restaurant that has BOTH chicken & waffles AND country/chicken fried steak/chicken for dinner (not breakfast or lunch). I am looking for a southern diner type of restaurant that is inexpensive (under $12 for the above mentioned items). Any ideas?

    1. Good luck. I think there are only a couple of restaurants that have chicken & waffles (if that). So, you're at the mercy of whether Gladys and Ron's has the other dish you seek.

Honestly, I'd go somewhere else. There are lots of discussions on where to go for Southern or soul food in Atlanta. I'd pick one of those places (Colonnade or Greenwood's spring to mind).

Crazy thing is, like most anything else, there's even a Wikipedia page for chicken and waffles:

      1. Don't know if they have that combo but it's worth a call to the Dwarf House - the original Chick-fil-A restaurant, established in 1946. Near the Atlanta Airport. They have belgian waffles and of course chicken. Don't see why you couldn't order both a la carte but it might not be cheap that way. As for the chicken fried steak/chicken call and ask (at non peak hour). Don't go to the Chick-fil-A menu. The Dwarf House is different and has a different menu from Chick-fil-A.

They do have a version of the "Hot Brown". Google: Dwarf House Atlanta Hot Brown.

If you go there get some of the best fried pies you have ever had: apple, peach, sweet potato.

Just found this but haven't checked out the menu fully. They do show "country fried steak" under the "additional items" menu - pdf file:

But you are out of luck there on Sunday. They are closed.
