Lunch during the week in Long Beach, close to a Blue Line Station

Where would you take a fairly conservative diner from Orange County to lunch in the Pine Avenue area (I'll be taking the Blue Line down from LA) during the summer?

Blue line terminal is at 1st & Broadway. Within 1-3 blocks are Kings Fish House, L'Opera (classic italian-very posh), Madison, and 555 East (both very upscale american), La Traviata (cozy, classic europeian). If you choose to walk, or take the Passport shuttle, about 5-6 blocks down to beach (convention center, aquarium, boat tours), there is a "hub" of good restaurants - P F Changs, Gladstones, CPK, Parkers Lighthouse, etc.
The Passport is a shuttle around downtown and Queen Mary, most of which is free - get info at Long Beach Transit. Also lots of info Googleing Long Beach - C of C.
