Sorry, this reply is too late for you for tonight, but for anyone who finds this thread in a search later, the West Seattle Blog has a very active forum with a Food category. That's another good place to go with West Seattle-related food and restaurant inquiries.

re: GreenYoshi
I've had their blackened/cajun style salmon. Can't remember why, maybe I was on a seafood/anti-red meat kick (that has long since passed). Anyway, I really liked their blackened salmon and the bruschetta like tomatoes they served with it were really delicious. However, it has been a few years since I've ordered the fish there.

I have't actually had the fish in either restaurant, but I can give general recommendations to both of the restaurants already mentioned: Jak's Grill and Spring Hill. These are my two favorite restaurants in W. Seattle.
Jak's grill is know more for their steaks (and happy hour hamburger - the w. seattle deal that fills every seat in the bar between 4:30 and 5:50). I would expect their fish to be excellent as well.
Monday nights at Spring Hill is always a winner. They have an outstanding chef who takes great pride in the food served.

Mashiko for sustainable sushi/japanese.
Spring Hill only offers their roast chicken family-style dinner on Mondays, otherwise they would be a good option for a nice dinner.

re: dagrassroots
Thanks for the specifics. I've been wanting to go back but the Monday menu doesn't excite me and they are closed on sunday, my other night off. Chicken of any kind, eh, would rather have the sweetbreads and the foie gras. Looking forward to a change in schedule so i can enjoy the regular menu. Soon.....
