tastey dinner in Berkeley / Oakland area with a good selection of California wines?

I have two friend's coming in from Germany. They're coming to the east bay (Berkeley) on Friday afternoon. We're going to take a walk in Tilden and then go to dinner. They're only request was a place with good California wine. For some reason, I'm stumped. I'm open to Berkeley, Oakland or there abouts. Ideally good food and good wine....I looked into Gather but it's booked up.

I'm not sure how the food is, but the wine bar at Solano Cellars might be worth a visit.

Perhaps it's too obvious, but Chez Panisse and CP Cafe both carry a decent amount of California wines. Go online I believe they even list them.

Additional choice Liaison with limited Cal selection.

Close to Tilden, Rivoli. Wine list short on Cal whites but fair # of Cal reds. Food very good. Signature dish portobello mushroom fritters.
