Lisbon airport for a few hours

We have to be at the Lisbon airport at around 9:30 a.m. to return our car and drop off some friends. Then our flight out of Lisbon isn't until 3:15 in the afternoon. Any ideas for a nearby lunch? I figure we can catch a cab back to the airport around 1-ish,

  1. I would suggest you go and visit the Oceanarium (really worth the visit) in the morning and hunt for lunch in that area of the Parque das Nações. Plenty of choice for an early meal there. There is a top class restaurant in the Casino there called "Pragma", but I only have been there for dinner, so not sure of timings. But lots of "tapas" bars and other options around.
Pity about your timing, one of the less known and best restaurants in Lisbon is only 2 minutes from the airport and is called "Luis Suspiro na Ordem" . The restaurant is in the Portuguese Medical Council but is open to the public. Unfortunately they don't start serving until 1pm (1:30 in fact).
In the airport, the only decent place (apart from the Business lounges) is one of the Harrod's cafés.

Thanks - this is helpful. I saw that Parque das Nacoes is close to the airport, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out exactly what this is. So - are there restaurants within the park or around it? I guess I should look it up in my Rough Guide...
