Peppermint Plaza Update - Ba Le and Roong Jing Jing (El Cerrito)
Was picking up a to-go order of bun bo hue (don't know if it is a good version or authentic - I just like it) and noticed that Ba Le has extended their menu to include bo kho, a few different rice plates, and some new snack goods. I was especially happy to find wasabi "crispy fish" which I've only been able to find at Berkeley Bowl. I didn't write down the price for the bo kho, but most of Ba Le's noodle soups are $5.95. They are still cash only.
Also noticed Roong Jing Jing Thai Speciality for the first time despite it being there for a year. I didn't have time to stop and really investigate, but saw some packaged noodles amongst the household goods. The Yelpers report that they used to be Sairoong Thai from the Pacific East Mall and carry dried/canned/frozen goods, frozen locally-made Issan-style sausages, and have homemade ready-to-eat snacks on the weekends.
